Fortunately, fashion experts at Boohoo have analyzed Google data to determine the most trending swimwear items this summer and tips on how to style them.

Barbie pink for your beach party

It's only appropriate to incorporate Barbie's style into our summer wardrobe this year – and with searches for 'pink bikini' increasing by 55% worldwide over the past 12 months, it's undoubtedly on-trend to opt for this for a beach party to get heads turning. As well as this, worldwide searches for 'pink sandals' in the last year are up by 49% - so whether you select flat shoes for comfort or heeled sandals for a more dressed-up look, the choice is yours.

Fuchsia is a mix between warm and cool, so it's ideal for most skin tones, and it's a bold choice that will keep eyes on you all day. However, pastel pink is a fabulous choice if you wish to be slightly toned down while still honoring Barbie.

Pairing pink with white is bound to make the colors pop – and worldwide searches over the past 12 months for 'white linen skirt' have increased by 76%, so it's the perfect cover-up to elevate your beach party outfit. 

Retro fashion for your boat party

Margot Robbie graced our cinema screens sporting a retro black and white striped swimsuit in the new Barbie movie, so it's no surprise that global searches for 'striped swimsuit' have exploded by 118% in the past year.

With the Barbie influence standing strong, a striped swimsuit – specifically black and white – is perfect for a boat party, especially with the pattern of choice fitting with the nautical theme. 

Although Margot Robbie's Barbie pairs her swimsuit with black heels, this Barbie can opt for platform sandals, which has witnessed an increase of 45% in Google searches worldwide over the past 12 months; so, your look will be taken to the next level and make a statement without causing any aching feet all day.

It can get pretty hot out at sea all day, so a hat will keep your head shaded as you party in the sun – and floppy hats are not only an incredible accessory for the retro look, but the item has also seen a rise of 45% globally in Google searches over the past year. 

Stylish but practical for a day of adventure at the beach

If you're the adventurous type, you may be eager to get out on the water whether that be paddleboarding, jet skiing, or even surfing – but it can be a challenge to find something to wear that is both fashionable and practical at the same time.

Searches in the past 12 months for a 'one shoulder swimsuit' are up by 100% across the globe - so it's certainly a fashionable choice this summer, and you needn't worry about any wardrobe mishaps occurring while you're out on the water, such as strings becoming untied.

On the other hand, 'white swimsuit' searches have risen by 67% worldwide in the past year; it's a simple but classic choice, and given the high demand, there's no question that this style is on-trend. Not to mention, it's bound to enhance your tan after a day under the sun.
